Russia lost $435 million worth of equipment over past 24 hours. Ground robots are among losses, too

Russia lost approximately $435 million worth of military equipment in 24 hours on the front. ArmyInform reported the figure on 3 June, alongside Russian personnel losses of 1,130 troops killed or wounded.

The single-day toll comes in a stretch of attritional combat in which Ukrainian forces have steadily ground down Russian armored vehicles, artillery tubes, and air-defense systems. The breakdown includes the kind of high-value losses, including artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, and air defense, which take Russia time and components to replace.

Day's losses, itemized

The day's destroyed and damaged Russian equipment included 5 tanks, 7 armored fighting vehicles, 60 artillery systems, 5 multiple launch rocket systems, 3 air-defense systems, 6 ground robotic complexes, 40 missiles, 1,853 unmanned aerial vehicles, 437 trucks and motor vehicles, and 4 pieces of specialized equipment, the journalists detailed separately.

Rising line for ground robotic systems

The General Staff began tracking ground robotic complexes as a separate line in its daily losses ledger in May, and the cumulative count stood at 1,306 in early May.

The new category reflects the rise of unmanned ground combat on both sides, with the 3rd Army Corps under Andrii Biletsky projecting that 30% of its infantry could be replaced by robotic systems by the end of 2026.

Putin's showcase day was targeted with Ukraine's drones

In a separate major development, Ukraine struck a major Russian fuel terminal on the Gulf of Finland and a military components plant in Tambov Oblast during the night of 2–3 June, as the Saint Petersburg blaze unfolded, with the Kremlin's flagship international business gathering opening in the city.

Residents reported a series of loud explosions and a large fire across the port area of Saint Petersburg shortly after 04:00 local time. The strike landed roughly 17 kilometers from the Expoforum complex, where the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) was planned to be held, where Russian President Vladimir Putin was scheduled to deliver a speech.
