Ukrainian drones attacked Russia's Tuapse marine oil terminal overnight on 27 May 2026, sparking a fire at the Rosneft-owned complex. The Krasnodar Krai operational HQ described the damage as caused by "falling drone debris." Telegram channels shared footage of a fire at the facility.
Marine terminal fire and Russia's "falling debris" response
Russian news Telegram channel Astra reported at 7:30 a.m. that one of the explosions was likely at the refinery area. The OSINT analysis was based on eyewitness video. Ukrainian Telegram channel Exilenova+ confirmed that locals reported at least one impact in Tuapse overnight on 27 May.
Tuapse is located in Krasnodar Krai in southern Russia, more than 500 km from the war zone.
Exilenova+ published photos of the fire at the marine terminal.

The Krasnodar Krai operational HQ claimed UAV debris fell on the marine terminal grounds with no casualties. The official statement stated that a fire from the drone fragments was quickly extinguished.

At least 5 Tuapse strikes this spring
The Tuapse complex consists of the RN-Tuapse refinery and RN-Marine Terminal Tuapse, both owned by Russia's state oil giant Rosneft. The 27 May attack was at least the 5th attack on the complex this spring.
The most recent prior strike on Tuapse oil infrastructure occurred on 1 May, when a fire broke out at the marine terminal. The first attack was on 16 April, igniting fuel tanks at the refinery. The next was on 20 April, causing a major fire that took days to extinguish. These two strikes destroyed and damaged over 50 fuel tanks at the refinery. The third strike on 28 April destroyed four more large fuel tanks at the Tuapse refinery, burned out adjacent infrastructure, and damaged two smaller tanks.
