Angolan citizen Bento Adriano Mendes, founder and director of BAM-86, Comércio e Serviços (LDA), has donated over 80 electric generators to Ukraine, as per UkrInform. The country has suffered from over 257 Russian strikes on energy infrastructure since the start of the cold season.
Russian attacks disrupt hospital operations, prevent people with illnesses from using elevators, and cut off oxygen supply to medical equipment.
At the same time, Russia is bombing evacuation trains in an attempt to provoke protests in major cities, increase pressure on the authorities, and force Ukraine to capitulate.
“By 31 January 2025, the Angolan businessman delivered 75 generators to Ukraine, valued at approximately €37,000,” says Ukrainian Ambassador to Angola Andrii Kasianov.
Generators for critical needs and medical use
Additionally, 10 generators were provided to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and on 12 February 2026, with support from the Ukrainian Embassy in Angola, two more generators were delivered to the M.M. Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery.
“Moreover, the same Angolan citizen purchased two additional generators and arranged their delivery to the medical facility,” emphasized Kasianov.
The equipment ensures the uninterrupted operation of surgical and laboratory units, as well as the protection of shelters during air raids.
“Thus, this assistance directly contributes to preserving the life and health of Ukrainian citizens,” the ambassador adds.
Medical institutions express gratitude
The M.M. Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery has thanked the donors on social media.
“In a time when Ukraine’s energy infrastructure faces constant attacks… such support is extremely important," medics say.
The institute has also expressed appreciation to the Ukrainian Embassy in Angola for its active role and help in organizing the collaboration.
