Ukrainian reconnaissance drones equipped with active evasion systems against Russia's FPV intercept drones have appeared on the frontlines, according to Defense Express experts analyzing new evidence of these technologies in combat conditions.
This is why the Russian military has actively developed FPV interceptor drones over recent months to try to "blind" Ukrainian units.
"Snich" in serial drones
OSINT channel Potuzhnyi Informator has published a photo of a Leleka-100 reconnaissance drone downed by Russian forces, clearly showing the standard "Snich" evasion system, designed to counter FPV interceptors.
Adaptation race: Ukraine responds symmetrically
Russian forces began installing similar evasion systems on their reconnaissance drones in 2024, integrating them into factory-standard drones. Ukraine's Snich, adapted for the Leleka-100, functions similarly: it can detect interception threats and execute evasive maneuvers. Initial information about the system emerged in September 2025.
Experts caution against overinterpretation: the photos show the drone's system camera, but it is unclear whether the evasion system was activated or influenced the drone’s survival.
