Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck a Russian ammunition depot in occupied Zaporizhzhia Oblast overnight on 16 January, the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported.
The General Staff said Ukraine continues targeted strikes to reduce Russia’s offensive capabilities and weaken its military production base as part of efforts to force Moscow to end its war against Ukraine.
The strike targeted an ammunition storage site used by a unit of Russia’s 76th Air Assault Division in the city of Prymorsk. Ukrainian forces confirmed a direct hit, while the scale of damage is still being assessed.
New details emerge on Taganrog drone factory strike
The General Staff also released updated details on the results of a strike carried out earlier this week on the Atlant Aero facility in Taganrog, in Russia’s Rostov Oblast.
The military said the attack damaged the plant’s drone final assembly workshop, two production buildings, and its administrative offices.
Ukrainian forces struck the Atlant Aero plant on 13 January using domestically produced missiles. The facility is involved in the design, production, and testing of Molniya strike and reconnaissance drones, as well as components for Orion drones used by Russian forces.
