Last night, drones struck the Temryuk seaport in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, setting off a massive fire at an oil facility used to supply the Russian military, according to the regional operational headquarters. The attack ignited fuel tanks at the port, a crucial node for delivering oil products toward the southern front and occupied Crimea. Latest reports also confirm another attack at noon on the oil refinery in Novoshakhtinsk. Both attacks targeted southern Russia.

The attacks are part of Kyiv’s deep-strike campaign, targeting Russian fuel infrastructure to disrupt military logistics and reduce petrochemical export revenues that help sustain Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Fire engulfs oil tanks at military supply port in Temryuk

In the early hours of 25 December, a drone attack caused a large-scale fire at an oil infrastructure site in the port area of Temryuk, a town in Krasnodar Krai. The regional operational headquarters reported that two oil tanks storing petroleum products caught fire, with the blaze allegedly spreading over an estimated 2,000 square meters.

The port of Temryuk serves as a key logistics point for the transfer of oil products supporting Russian military operations in the south, including supplies directed into occupied Crimea. The full extent of the damage has not been disclosed, but local Russian sources confirmed the fire followed a UAV strike on the facility.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense stated that it intercepted and destroyed 141 drones during the night. The ministry claimed the aerial attacks targeted more than 10 regions of the Russian Federation, as well as Russian-occupied Crimea. The highest number of intercepted drones was reportedly over Bryansk oblast, where Russian forces allegedly downed 62 UAVs.

No independent confirmation of the Defense Ministry’s claims was available, and no details were given about specific damage or casualties resulting from drone strikes outside of Krasnodar Krai.

Fresh oil refinery strike

Ukrainian Telegram channels are currently reporting a strike on the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in Russia’s Rostov Oblast.

Krasnodar Krai: a recurring target for drone warfare

The latest strike adds to a growing list of drone attacks against infrastructure in Krasnodar Krai. Days earlier, damage was recorded at a pipeline terminal in Temryuksky District following a separate drone incident. On 30 November, drones also attacked the Slaviansk oil refinery, with Russian sources reporting damage caused by falling UAV debris. Earlier, on 15 November, dozens of drones targeted the military airbase at Krymsk, with Russia claiming 46 UAVs were shot down overnight.
