The Ukrainian company "Ukrainian Armor" has reported that it has successfully tested the Protector unmanned ground system. The system can carry out combat missions remotely while operators remain in a safe location. This can reduce casualties in the most dangerous sectors of the front.
The system is armed with the integrated Tavriia‑12.7 remotely operated combat module. It is a remotely controlled turret armed with a 12.7 mm Browning M2 machine gun and equipped with a digital fire‑control system.
Accurate fire even on the move
According to the company, the testing included firing at various distances and in different modes.
“We achieved good results both during static firing and while shooting on the move at different ranges,” said Ukrainian Armor CEO Vladyslav Belbas.
The system is designed for surveillance, detection, and engagement of ground targets, such as armored vehicles, personnel, and transport, as well as aerial targets, including helicopters and drones.
A drone that takes the hit instead of people
He noted that integrating the remotely operated combat module turns the ground platform into a fully capable combat unit.
“The main task of the Protector UGS with the Tavriia module is to preserve the lives of our soldiers as much as possible,” Belbas explained.
