Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate eliminated three Rosgvardia personnel in Russia's Stavropol region on 27 September, the HUR press service reported on 30 September.
The operation targeted a Rosgvardia lieutenant colonel who commanded the Avangard special unit, along with his assistant and driver, according to the intelligence agency. The attack occurred near the settlement of Tambukan in Stavropol Krai.
"The group of occupants was moving to a training ground but never arrived," HUR reported.
Video footage released by the directorate shows the personnel were killed by a remotely detonated explosive device. The operation was conducted with support from the Caucasus liberation movement, HUR reports.
The three Rosgvardia members were traveling when the device was activated, resulting in their elimination on Russian territory, according to the intelligence agency's statement.
