Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) released a video on 28 September showing the destruction of a Russian van reportedly with drone operators inside at a guarded base in occupied Melitopol. HUR described the operation as “extremely complex and successful.”
Explosion at Russian base in occupied Melitopol
According to HUR, the explosion occurred on 27 September at a closed and guarded Russian military base located on the premises of an airfield settlement in occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia oblast.
Ukrainian intelligence said it destroyed a UAZ “Bukhanka” van with at least four Russian drone operators inside.
The vehicle type, officially known as UAZ-452, is widely used by Russian troops and is nicknamed “Bukhanka” (“a loaf of bread”) because of its shape.
Video shows van struck while leaving workshop
The video released by HUR shows a group of Russian soldiers with backpacks entering an industrial workshop. A UAZ-452 van then drives out of the building.
Moments later, it appears to be struck from the side—possibly with a roadside bomb or a grenade launcher—rather than by a device planted inside.
Ukrainian intelligence reported "at least" four Russian occupiers killed inside the vehicle. The agency also described the action as part of ongoing “armed struggle” against Russian occupying forces.
