The death toll from the Russian attack on Kharkiv on 24 September has risen to four, as rescue workers recovered the body of a woman from the debris of a building in the Kyivskyi district, local officials report.
Russian forces hit the residential building in the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv with an FAB-500 with UMPK on 24 September.
The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that rescuers found the body of a deceased woman under the rubble of a nine-story residential building in the Kyivskyi district.
Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, and Ihor Terekhov, the mayor of Kharkiv, confirmed the increase in casualties.
The attack involved eight FAB-500 aerial bombs dropped on residential areas of Kharkiv, striking buildings in both the Kyivskyi and Saltivskyi districts, according to earlier reports.
The Regional Military Administration reports that 12 wounded individuals remain hospitalized, with four in critical condition. In total, 36 people were injured as a result of the attack.
Russia has been conducting near-daily attacks on Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, as part of its ongoing war against Ukraine. These frequent strikes often target civilian areas and infrastructure, causing casualties.
