Ukrainian World Congress launches major campaign in 32 countries to promote Ukraine’s NATO membership ahead of Washington summit

The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) has called on all activists and organizations that support Ukraine to join its advocacy campaign, #UkraineInNATO. This initiative aims to promote the country’s accession to NATO to strengthen the Alliance amid Russia’s threats.

Ahead of the 75th NATO Summit in Washington, held from 9 to 11 July, the UWC plans to meet with officials, influencers, civil society leaders, and experts in all 32 NATO member countries to promote NATO’s membership invitation for Ukraine.

“The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) is launching an ongoing advocacy campaign, #UkraineInNATO, and invites all Ukrainian communities, organizations, Ukrainians, and friends of Ukraine worldwide to participate in this initiative,” said the organization’s statement.

Campaign materials and detailed information on the campaign will appear soon on the UWC website.

“Inviting Ukraine to join NATO is in the best interest of the Alliance itself, as it will strengthen Euro-Atlantic security and send a signal of unity and determination to all autocracies worldwide.

It is the best investment in strengthening the Alliance’s security and military capabilities and the most effective mechanism to end and prevent the worst war and humanitarian catastrophe in Europe since World War II,” stated UWC President Paul Grod.

Earlier, former US diplomat Kurt Volker warned that delaying Ukraine’s NATO membership would only invite Putin to prolong the war.
