A Mi-8 helicopter with 20 people on board crashed in the Magadan Oblast in Russia, with at least 2 people - according to other reports, one person - killed.
After the imposition of sanctions against Russia, the number of aircraft accidents in Russia increased. This is reportedly due to Russia's lack of necessary parts imported from Western countries.
The Mi-8 helicopter, reportedly operated by Dalnereochensk Avia, was transporting workers from a gold mine en route from the Kvartsovy landing site to the Omsukchan airport.
The helicopter crash occurred 75 km from the village of Evensk in the Severo-Evensk district of the Magadan Oblast.
According to Russia’s Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor's Office, the helicopter crashed due to the engine failure
There were 20 people on board the aircraft, including three crew members.
Russian Telegram channels report one or two dead due to the crash.
