Representatives from the United States and Ukrainian governments held an online discussion to outline further steps to boost the Ukrainian economy, including its strategic and business sectors.

The meeting, as reported by Ukraine’s Ambassador to the US, Oksana Markarova, involved Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko, and the US Special Representative for Ukraine’s Economic Recovery, Penny Pritzker, as well as US Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink.

Ambassador Markarova conveyed the meeting’s focus on detailed discussions and coordination of joint efforts with American partners to provide additional momentum to Ukraine’s economic development. Special attention was given to the real sector of the economy, supporting both strategic industries and small and medium-sized businesses.

Markarova, in her speech on MSNBC last week, emphasized Ukraine’s active efforts to communicate to the United States the importance of continued support in the fight against Russian aggression.

In October 2023, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the US Special Representative for Ukraine’s Economic Recovery, Penny Pritzker, in Kyiv. They discussed macro-financial assistance for Ukraine in 2024, rebuilding damaged infrastructure, and utilizing frozen Russian assets for reconstruction needs.
