Budget committee: Ukraine counts on financial aid from EU, US but prepares for delay

Twenty-six member states of the European Union made a principled decision that financial aid for Ukraine should be included in the EU’s multi-year budget for the next four years. That’s why Ukraine is sure this aid will eventually be provided.

In January, a summit of the heads of the European Union member states will decide that Ukraine will become part of the seven-year EU budget, and the Ukraine Facility program will be launched, for which we are drawing up a reform plan. Ukraine will receive tranches of aid after fulfilling the conditions of this plan,” the MP said.

According to her, there is currently no doubt that the European Council will approve this support package.

The main question is when we will be able to receive the first tranche. We may have a rather difficult period in the first quarter [of 2024] when funding from all international partners has not yet arrived, so we expect that the EU will decide on providing budgetary support to Ukraine as soon as possible,” Pidlasa emphasized.
