Ukrainian forces have, for the first time since the start of the full-scale war, captured a Russian position using only drones and unmanned ground robotic systems (UGVs). According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russian troops surrendered without any involvement of Ukrainian infantry.
1,750-kilometer record. So far
“I thank everyone involved — in workshops, design bureaus, laboratories, testing grounds, production and repair facilities — everyone working every day for Ukraine,” the Ukrainian president said.
He adds that “Ukraine is in many ways irreplaceable thanks to our experience, expertise, and technologies.”
From range records to “justice that finds enemy everywhere”
In a video address to employees of Ukraine’s defense industry, President Volodymyr Zelensky showcased Ukrainian weapons, including drones and missiles, among them the “Flamingo.”
He also noted that the historic long-range capability of Ukrainian drones was demonstrated at a distance of 1,750 kilometers from Ukraine’s border, and that “there will be more.”
“It is not about records, but about justice that finds evil anywhere in the world,” he said, adding that systems such as “Sichen,” “Liutyi,” “Morok,” “Bars,” “Obriy,” and FP are evidence of this.
Ukraine as part of future European air defense system
He also stated that negotiations with European partners on creating a joint air defense system will take place this week.
“Either Ukraine becomes an inseparable part of Europe’s security system, or some in Europe risk becoming part of the Russian world,” he stated.
A foreign delegation also visited Ukraine today and was shown new developments of the domestic defense industry.
Earlier, Ukraine's Drone Line, funded at $880 million and operational since March 2025, killed approximately 30,000 Russian soldiers in a single winter by creating continuous drone coverage along assault corridors.
