Ukraine hits Bastion missile launcher in occupied Crimea used to fire Onyx missiles at Ukrainian cities

Ukrainian forces struck a launcher belonging to the Bastion coastal missile system in the Russian-occupied village of Aktachi, Crimea, overnight into 24 March, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

The Bastion system fires P-800 Onyx supersonic anti-ship missiles — the same weapons Russia has used repeatedly in aerial attacks against Ukrainian territory.

Eastern strikes

Beyond Crimea, the General Staff reported strikes on Russian troop concentration areas in three regions: Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk oblast, Khoroshe in Luhansk oblast, and Novozlatopil in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Ukrainian forces also hit a Russian army repair unit in Novozlatopil and a UAV control point in Velyka Novosilka, according to the same statement.

Russia energy infrastructure

The previous night, into 23 March, Ukraine's Defense Forces acting jointly with the Security Service of Ukraine struck fuel and energy infrastructure inside Russia. The targets included the Transneft — Port Primorsk oil terminal and the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim refinery, a source in the Security Service of Ukraine told Euromaidan Press.

Following the strike on the oil terminal, a fire broke out: tanks holding crude oil and petroleum products were burning, the SBU source said. Local Russian authorities confirmed both the strike and the fire and reported that personnel evacuation was underway.
