Berlin will fund the production of 15,000 Ukrainian STRILA interceptor drones for units of the National Guard of Ukraine, the Embassy of Germany in Ukraine reports. The multi-million-dollar agreement also includes training, logistical support, and joint drone development.

Strila is a Ukrainian interceptor drone developed by WIY Drones. It is designed to counter strike drones such as the Shahed-136/Shahed-131, reconnaissance “flying wings,” and other high-speed aerial targets.

“Another 15,000 Ukrainian-made STRILA interceptor drones, financed by Germany, for the National Guard!” the embassy says.

A technological alliance changing  war

The embassy added that production will be scaled up through cooperation between Quantum-Systems and WIY Drones, which specialize in unmanned systems development.

The STRILA system is manufactured in Ukraine for rapid delivery to the battlefield.

Speed that intercepts death

Strila features extremely high speeds of 350–355 km/h, can operate for 15–20 minutes at altitudes up to 4 km, and has a tactical range of over 20 km, carrying a payload of up to 800 g.

The drone is equipped with daytime and thermal imaging cameras, enabling effective operation both day and night, as per Forbes.

Its structure and proprietary propellers are designed to withstand high loads during the interception of fast-moving targets.

In 2025–2026, upgraded versions of Strila appeared with the SineLink module, which operates without GPS and is resistant to electronic warfare.

Optics have also been improved, allowing target identification at distances of up to 1,000 meters during the day and 600 meters at night, and a rotating optical module has been added.

The drone has been codified in accordance with NATO standards and is being supplied in series under government contracts.

Its cost has decreased to approximately $2,292 per unit.

Strila is available on platforms such as BRAVE1 Market and DOT-Chain Defence, making it the first interceptor drone purchasable with combat e-points.

Earlier, Ukrainian forces destroyed a rare Russian drone, the “SKAT 450M”, valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars. This drone is considered a super-rare asset in the occupying forces' arsenal due to its limited number.
