The Ukrainian Navy has reported that it carried out a successful operation in Crimea, which is occupied by Russia. A series of precision strikes conducted in coordination with the Special Operations Forces destroyed several key elements of Russian military infrastructure.
Three Pantsir systems and a mobile fire group destroyed
During the operation, Ukrainian forces struck three Russian Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems used to protect critical sites and counter drones.
In addition, a Russian mobile fire group was eliminated, further reducing the enemy’s ability to shield its positions from Ukrainian drone strikes.
Maritime component hit: BK-16 landing craft destroyed in Novoozerne
Ukrainian naval forces have also struck a Russian Project 02510 BK-16 high-speed landing craft near Novoozerne.
Boats of this class are designed for rapid troop transport, sabotage operations, and coastal patrol missions. Russia produces them at the Rybinsk Shipyard, part of the Kalashnikov Concern.
The craft’s design is based on the Swedish Combat Boat 90 developed by Saab through its Dockstavarvet division. Sweden has sent the vessels to Ukraine during the war.
BK-16 boats can be equipped with:
- a remotely operated combat module with a 12.7 mm machine gun or a 40 mm grenade launcher;
- four 7.62 mm machine guns;
- the capability to deploy naval mines or rocket launchers.
They also use reconnaissance drones, such as the ZALA UAV, that transmit real-time video over distances of up to 25 km, RBC-Ukraine reports.
Orion UAV base destroyed at Kirovske airfield
Another key result of the operation was a strike on Russian military infrastructure at Kirovske Air Base.
Ukrainian forces destroyed a storage site for Orion UAV strike-reconnaissance drones and four control stations used to operate them, significantly limiting Russia’s UAV capabilities in the region.
Ukrainian forces say systematic operations against rear military infrastructure continue. Such strikes gradually degrade Russian logistics, air defense networks, and drone infrastructure, weakening the enemy’s combat potential on the southern front.
