Ukrainian National Guard unit Lasar’s Group carried out a special operation in early February in Luhansk Oblast, striking multiple Russian military vehicles and positions, the unit reported.
The mission targeted equipment belonging to the 3rd and 10th Russian army corps. Lasar’s Group said its aerial reconnaissance located several enemy concentrations deep behind defensive lines and directed bomber crews to strike those positions.
Strikes hit three giant Pion guns and a Solntsepyok thermobaric launcher
Strikes included three 2S7 “Pion” self‑propelled artillery systems. According to Militarnyi, the 203 mm “Pion” is among the largest‑caliber artillery pieces used by Russian forces and capable of long‑range fire.
The operation also hit a TOS‑1A heavy flamethrower system “Solntsepyok” and its associated TZM‑T transport and charging vehicle, reflecting a focus on both firepower and logistics support.
13 vehicles destroyed, Russian attacks on forward positions reduced
In addition, Lasar’s Group said the operation struck a command and staff vehicle and seven other armored combat vehicles, for a total of 13 enemy units destroyed.
The unit said the mission helped reduce Russian artillery and rocket strikes on forward Ukrainian positions and weaken the enemy’s offensive capabilities in the area.
The unit described the mission as carefully planned to limit risks to Ukrainian troops while diminishing the enemy’s operational potential.
