Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) have struck 240 sensitive targets inside Russia and Russian-occupied Ukrainian territory in the first 48 days of 2026, the commander of the USF, Major Robert Brovdi — known by his callsign Madyar — reported on 17 February.
The targets range from oil refineries deep inside Russian territory to power substations and military airfields in occupied Ukraine. "USF Birds carry out daily combat missions at operational and strategic depth against enemy oil and fuel, critical and defense industry infrastructure, air defense systems, SAM systems, radar stations, and so on," Brovdi wrote.
The strikes were carried out by units from the 1st USF Operations Center, the "Kairos" deep strike battalion of the 414th Separate Brigade "Madyar's Birds," the 412th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade Nemesis, the 413th Separate Regiment "Raid," and the "Graf" unit of the USF. Brovdi noted that "some of the deep strike targets were hit jointly with other units of Ukraine's Defense Forces."
Among the facilities listed as struck during January–February 2026 are nine oil refineries across Russia, including the Novokuybyshevsky, Afipsky, Ryazan, Yaroslavl, Tuapse, Saratov, Slavyansk Eco, Ilysky, and Volgograd plants. Fuel depots, a gas processing plant in Astrakhan, and the Tamanheftegaz oil terminal also appear on the list. Industrial targets include the Shchyokinoazot and Dorogobuzh chemical plants, Nevinnomyssky Azot, and Lebedinsk Mining and Processing Combine. At least a dozen military airfields — among them Engels, Khalino, Millerovo, Saki, and Gvardeyskoye — were also listed as struck, along with numerous power substations both in Russia and in occupied Ukrainian territory.
As Brovdi emphasized, the published list is explicitly "non-exhaustive," with the full count standing at 240 objects and "+188 other targets in occupied territory and the marshes" not individually named.
On the frontline picture, Brovdi said USF units "are focusing on the contact line and preparing for the summer offensive by the occupier, which will likely unfold as early as March." He added that within an hour of his posting, confirmed USF strikes would cross 5,000 enemy personnel and 16,000 enemy targets for the period of February 1–17 alone, with figures updated in real time in the unit's public tracker.
Brovdi also addressed public questions about whether strikes on Russian oil refineries had been restricted. "Madyar, why aren't you hitting the refineries? Forbidden? A deal?" he quoted critics as asking, responding with the list of nine refineries his units had already struck. "Not a word about symmetry of strikes and no interpretations," he added.
The report was also relayed by ArmiyaInform, Ukraine's official military news agency, which noted that USF operators had previously struck targets in occupied Ukrainian territory using middle-strike-class systems.
