Ukraine's Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced new contributions to the country's defense ahead of the Ramstein meeting, according to his Telegram channel.
"During meetings with EU Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius and EU High Representative Kaja Kallas, we focused on ways to maximize the effective use of funds from the EU loan," Fedorov said.
The minister discussed new contributions to the PURL program with European defense ministers. The program will finance the procurement of critically needed air defense systems, Ukrainian drones and missiles, and joint defense projects. The talks also covered cooperation in the defense industrial complex.
Fedorov emphasized that one of Ukraine's goals is to build win-win relations with partners.
"Thank you to all partners for their support. We expect strong new contributions to Ukraine's defense tomorrow during the Ramstein meeting," the minister said.
The Ramstein meetings coordinate military support to Ukraine. The previous Ramstein meeting saw Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal in attendance and took place in December. Ukraine's Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov travelled to NATO headquarters in Brussels on 12 February in his first major international engagement since taking office last month.
In early February, Fedorov held a coordination call with NATO's Secretary General and the defense ministers of Britain and Germany ahead of the upcoming Ramstein session.
