Ukrainian open-source intelligence groups have confirmed the complete destruction of a Russian ammunition depot in the occupied town of Debaltseve in Donetsk Oblast. Satellite imagery published after the 20 January strike show a scorched patch of land where the facility once stood, according to Dnipro OSINT.
Satellite imagery confirms depot destruction in occupied Debaltseve
Dnipro OSINT released a satellite photograph that clearly shows the aftermath of the strike on a Russian munitions depot in Russian-occupied Debaltseve. Even in low-resolution imagery, the facility is visibly obliterated, with a blackened area contrasting sharply with the surrounding snow.
According to OSINT project Cyberboroshno, the ammunition depot had been located inside one of the buildings of the former Debaltseve Metallurgical Machine-Building Plant. The site lay near key railway infrastructure, suggesting its possible use as a logistics hub for unloading and distributing munitions to Russian forces on the frontline.
The strike occurred in the evening of 20 January. Local sources reported the presence of drones in the area around the time of the explosion.
The Ukrainian military has not publicly confirmed responsibility. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not mention the Debaltseve strike in its 21 January morning report, and no Ukrainian unit has claimed the attack.
