Belarus transferred over 31 wagons of equipment to Russia in 2025: What was in them?

Russia sent at least 31 railway wagons carrying military equipment from Belarus, destined for its central tank reserve base last year. These transfers were systematic and continued over several months in 2025, according to the Belarusian railway community

The Institute for the Study of War says Belarus continues to serve as a staging ground for potential attacks on NATO. On the eve of the New Year, Belarus showcased Russia's Oreshnik missile system. It claimed the system could strike targets at distances of up to 5,000 km. It puts European cities in its range.

According to an analytical report covering the second and third quarters of 2025, military transfers occurred between 1 April and 30 September. They included both the movement of equipment from storage depots and the dispatch of weapons to Russia for repair.

Military echelon from Borisov station

One recorded episode involved a military train departing from Borisov station on the Belarusian Railway. The shipment was organized by the 814th Technical Support Center of the Belarusian Ministry of Defense.

Analysts confirmed the train had 32 wagons, of which 31 platforms carried military equipment. The final destination was the 1311th Central Tank Reserve Base of the Russian Armed Forces.

Experts note that the route and destination indicate the equipment was transferred directly from Belarusian depots to Russian military use.

Air defense units also transported

During the same period, another large-scale military shipment involved Belarusian air defense units. A train departed from Polotsk station, associated with the 377th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment of the Belarusian Air and Air Defense Forces.

The train was bound for Onokhoy station on the East Siberian Railway in Russia, and included 31 platforms of military equipment plus one wagon with components, likely elements of air defense missile systems.

The purpose of this shipment, according to the analysis, was major repairs and technical maintenance at Russian repair facilities.
