Ukrainian drones hit multiple facilities at Donetsk Airport used for storing, equipping, and preparing Russian Shahed and Geran strike drones for launch, the Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Robert Brovdi (call sign "Madyar"), said on 30 December 2025.
The operation targeted the occupied airport on the night of 30 December. "The operation was developed by the intelligence directorate of the 414th separate brigade 'Madyar's Birds' of the SBS jointly with the newly created deep strike center of the Unmanned Systems Forces grouping," Brovdi stated.
According to the commander, Ukrainian forces struck a Geran and Shahed logistics hub, a pre-flight preparation and maintenance point for Geran, Shahed, and Gerbera drones, and a central warhead storage facility for Geran and Shahed drones. The strikes also hit an accumulation warehouse for Gerbera drones and a concentration point for personnel and technical staff responsible for preparing and conducting pre-launch technical maintenance of Geran, Shahed, and Gerbera drones.
The attack comes two days after Madyar announced another operation. On the night of December 28, Ukrainian forces struck a Russian Valdai radar system in temporarily occupied Crimea, along with a control point for a radar reconnaissance complex and a storage and launch base for unmanned maritime vessels, according to his earlier statement.
