Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna has called for increased international pressure on Russia following a large-scale strike on Ukrainian oblasts.
Writing on social media platform X, Tsahkna said that the international community's pressure on Russia "must not only be maintained but intensified."
"During a holiday season meant to bring people together in celebration, reflection, and goodwill, Russia continues to escalate its attacks against Ukraine, striking energy infrastructure and deliberately endangering innocent civilians who are simply trying to spend time with their families. These crimes will not go unanswered," the Estonian foreign minister wrote.
The statement came in response to a combined Russian attack launched on the morning of 23 December, which triggered air raid alerts across Ukraine. Russian forces deployed cruise missiles and strike drones in the coordinated assault.
Air defense systems were activated in Kyiv, Kyiv Oblast, and Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, according to local reports.
Five people were injured in the attack on Kyiv, including one child. One of the victims is in serious condition.
Poland scrambled its aircraft in response to Russia's combined attack against Ukraine.
