Russia receives new batch of Su-34 bombers — same aircraft that dropped 860 bombs on Pokrovsk in single month

The Russian military has received another batch of Su-34 fighter-bombers from the United Aircraft Corporation. These aircraft drop glide bombs, also known as KABs, for which Ukraine currently lacks a comprehensive defense solution, UNIAN reports.

In 2025, Russia planned to produce 75,000 aerial bombs. Such bombs cause massive destruction, with a few capable of leveling a five-story building. In October, Moscow dropped 150 bombs in one day on Pokrovsk and the surrounding settlements. In total, in October, Russia dropped 860 aerial bombs weighing 250 kilograms on this city.

Recently, the Russian military has extended the range of its glide bombs to 200 kilometers. This allows pilots to strike Ukrainian cities without entering Ukrainian air-defense zones and significantly broadens the map of potential deep-range attacks.

Russia conceals production volumes

As usual, Russian officials did not reveal the number of aircraft and only released a short video. Visual indicators suggest that the latest batch contains at least several newly manufactured Su-34s.

United Aircraft Corporation director Vadim Badeha said the 2025 production program is almost complete, and work on aircraft scheduled for 2026 has already begun. He noted that this is one of the most intense years for deliveries of operational and tactical aviation.

The Su-34 is becoming the main strike backbone of the Russian Air Force

The Su-34 is one of the most numerous strike aircraft in Russia, with more than 160 units produced. Most operate within the Aerospace Forces, while a smaller share is allocated for export.

Earlier, photos appeared online showing a Su-34 painted in an unusual orange livery. Analysts believe it was built for Algeria, which suggests the model is entering the export market.
