In occupied Crimea from 2017 to 2025, there were 10,727 human rights violations recorded, of which 7,166 concerned Crimean Tatars, the Crimean Resource Center (CRC) reports. The statistics highlight the ethnonational character of the repression and the targeted pressure on the indigenous people of the peninsula.
“Together we can help restore freedom to those who are currently suffering unjustly. Crimea has always been and remains Ukrainian, and its people deserve peace and freedom,” says the Center.
Hundreds of lives at risk
During the entire period of Crimea’s occupation, the number of political prisoners and individuals prosecuted in criminal cases reached 486, including 272 Crimean Tatars. Human rights defenders call for spreading awareness about the repression to support those who are currently suffering.

According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, from 2017 to 2025, the occupiers conducted 555 searches (381 involving Crimean Tatars) and 1,745 detentions (1,281 Crimean Tatars).
