President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held phone calls with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on 30 November amid intensifying negotiations over ending the war, European Pravda reports.
"I spoke with Mark Rutte, and we will speak again in the coming days. These are important days, and much can change," Zelenskyy wrote on X.
The Ukrainian president emphasized close coordination with NATO leadership as diplomatic efforts accelerate. "We are coordinating closely, and in our activity, in the activity of all partners, joint measures and joint positions will be extremely effective," he said.
In his conversation with von der Leyen, the two leaders aligned on next steps in Ukraine-EU cooperation. "We remain in full coordination with the European Commission, I am grateful for the support. We discussed the diplomatic situation, and we share a common view on key issues," Zelenskyy reported.
Energy resilience was a separate focus of the discussion with the Commission president. "It is also important that Ursula is very attentive to the need to strengthen our resilience amid constant Russian strikes on infrastructure, on energy. I appreciate the readiness to help Ukraine," Zelenskyy wrote.
The calls come as Ukrainian and American delegations meet in Miami on 30 November to discuss settlement of the Russia-Ukraine war. The US reportedly seeks to finalize two unresolved issues at the meeting: territories and security guarantees. US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff is scheduled to meet Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Moscow next week to convey the results of Sunday's negotiations.
