Minsk-based E-System Solutions showcased a new strike system at the Dubai Airshow based on the low-cost cruise missile (LCCM) Mk2, reports Defense Express. It is equipped with a warhead weighing as much as those used in Shahed-136 drones, which Russia uses to destroy residential buildings and infrastructure facilities in Ukraine.
The missile is said to be designed to engage light and armored vehicles, command vehicles, radars, command posts, aircraft at airfields, and missile launch systems.
Born of war: LCCM Mk2 developed from Ukrainian battlefield experience
The company claims that the LCCM Mk2 was developed taking into account lessons from the “Ukrainian theater of operations.” This means it is not ruled out that Russian specialists participated in the project.
Belarus-UAE facade: demonstration aimed at hiding the true developers
Despite the official status of a “Belarus-UAE company,” the demonstration may be an attempt to create the impression that Russia is not involved in the project.
The missile has a range of 500–1000 km and a warhead of 25–50 kg, significantly smaller than Russian analogs used against Ukraine. However, enough to destroy important facilities or set them on fire.
The LCCM Mk2 can be launched from ground platforms, including the chassis of lightly armored vehicles and container launchers, as well as from ships.
