Volunteer fund, but not for those who require help
Cyber specialists from the intelligence agency have carried out a successful attack, paralyzing Russia’s national payment system, SBP.
It is actively used to transfer funds to “charitable and volunteer organizations” supporting the so-called "special military operation," the term which means Russia's war against Ukraine. This means funds were going into the pockets of those Russians, who, according to the UN estimates, have killed 14,000 civilians in Ukraine.
Due to the DDoS attack on the SBP system and the provider TransTeleCom, many Russians were unable to make instant transfers or complete online payments.
Economic blow to the aggressor’s budget
Mass complaints appeared on social media in Yekaterinburg about the inability to pay for public transport or fuel online.
The cyberattack also left hundreds of thousands of local provider subscribers in many Russian regions without internet access or interactive television.
