A film about the war in Donbas has won best documentary at a US film festival. “Breaking Point: War for Democracy in Ukraine” delves into the fallout of the Euromaidan revolution and the war that followed.
The film follows ordinary people who risk their lives to defend and rebuild Ukraine. Eighty-six people were interviewed about their experiences during EuroMaidan and the war in the East. Three-time academy award-winning director Mark Jonathan Harris and acclaimed Ukrainian director Oles Sanin co-directed this intimate look at sacrifice.
The documentary was screened to two sellout crowds at the 23rd San Luis Obispo International Film Festival where it received a standing ovation. The jury selected it and another as winners for Best Documentary Feature.
