Ukrainian air defenses downed 9 of 12 Russia’s kamikaze drones, 45 of more than 80 missiles (updated)

Air defense forces of Ukraine shot down 9 out of 12 Iranian-made Shahed type kamikaze drones during Russia’s morning attack on Ukraine. Yurii Ihnat, the spokesman for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this on the air of the national telethon.

Update:

As of 11:40, Russian troops fired more than 80 missiles targeting Ukraine, of which Ukrainian air defenses shot down 45, according to the Air Force Command.

This morning multiple cities in Ukraine came under a massive Russian attack. Russia launched dozens of ground and air-based missiles, and also used the Iranian-made Shahed-136 drones:

Update:

According to Ukraine’s Air Force Command, Russia has used high-precision land-, sea-, and air-based cruise missiles:

  • Kh-101, Kh-555 launched from the area of the Caspian sea from eleven Tu-95 and Tu-160 strategic bomber aircraft;
  • Kalibr cruise missiles from ships in the Black Sea;
  • land-based OTRK Iskander from different directions;

Russia has also used the missiles of S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems and Tornado-S multiple rocket launchers.
