March 22: Russia tries to pressure all countries that want to participate in a common missile defense system project

U.S., UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa

March 22 – The West needs a new transatlantic strategy in response to the challenges posed by Russia, – said the President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski, speaking at a forum in Brussels (reports PAP). "The West remained delusional for too long, believing that Russia will choose modernization because it is in its interest to do so", – said Komorowski. "We need a strategy that would unite the West in view of new challenges, in order to adhere to core values and interests of Euro-Atlantic community; a strategy, which would unite the efforts put in by the key institutions, both in the EU and NATO", – emphasized Komorowski.

March 22 – Viktor Yanukovych Jr., younger son of former President of Ukraine, has died in Russia. A Volkswagen he was driving with 5 passengers on board fell through the ice on Lake Baikal.

March 22 – Russia tries to pressure all countries that want to participate in a common missile defense system project, said Philip Breedlove, Supreme Allied Commander Europe of NATO Allied Command Operations (reports Reuters) when commenting on a statement made previously by the Ambassador of Russia in Denmark Mikhail Vanin about Denmark being a target of a possible Russian nuclear attack if it joins NATO missile defense system. "Romania has come under a lot of pressure when it became a part of the shield. Poland is under great pressure, and now everyone who still wants to join this defense project will be under diplomatic and political pressure", – said Breedlove.

March 22 – In St. Petersburg (Russia) a Russian International Conservative Forum was held with the participation of ultra-right parties of the whole Europe. The organizer was the Russian Conservative Party "Rodyna". Its leader is a member of the fraction of the pro-Putin Party of United Russia in the State Duma of the Russian Federation. As the site of the organization informs, the main goal of the Forum is the creation of a plan of action and a general coordinating committee of all nationalist forces in Russia and Ukraine.

Near the hotel where the Forum was held, there was a protest meeting against this gathering of neo-fascists; people banged their drums and called out anti-fascist slogans. However, the Russian police apprehended eight demonstrators who were demonstrating against the holding of the Forum, and not against the neo-fascists.

In Petersburg there are also the so-called "individual" protests against the holding of this Forum.

An "individual" picket is when one person by her/his self has a poster with a protest – in Russia this is the only form of protest which does not require previous governmental approval.

March 21 – Gunmen fired at the ATO positions 30 times from 5 am to 7 pm, they used artillery twice, mortars and grenade launchers – 15 times and small arms – 11 times, – informs ATO press center.

March 21 – Russia will not participate in the voting of the UN Security Council on the request of Kyiv to bring peace keeping forces into Ukraine. This was in the program "News on Saturday by Sehey Brylevym," stated the Head of the RF Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Serhiy Lavrov. "We won't even vote," he stated.

March 21 – There is no cooperation between Russia and the West, but we are not talking about the Cold War. This was stated by General Secretary of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg: "We are not in the process of a Cold War, because that was an all-inclusive ideological war btween two soldier blocks. Right now we do not have it. According to him

"Also an expert opinion was carried out regarding the statementd of citizen Putin and citizen Shoyha in the film which was shown in Russia on the annexation of Crimea; these materials have been gathered and are submitted to the General Prosecutor and they will coordinate it with the international prosecutors of the given court," he stated.

Petrenko clarified that the court being referred to is the International Criminal Court in Gaaza.

March 17 – Europe does not have a clear strong direction regarding the threat from the side of Russia, which has to be answered with force. This was stated by Poland's ex-president, Lech Walensa in an interview for TVN24. "If Russia will risk to attack Poland and other countries, then it will collapse. I see that which will happen with Russia. Of course, a million, 10 million people will die, and it would be better if that did not happen," Walensa stared in creating the scenario of a possible future war. Walensa believes that "Russia is some 30-50 years behind both in the awareness as well as in the structure of organizing a state, and therefore they are utilizing methods that have long ago been laid to rest in the past." "Putin began a war with the whole developed world. He broke pacts, agreements, guarantees. The world cannot just simply leave it as is. If something similiar happens, the only thing left is force. How can one play here, how can one win, when he is boxing, and we are playing chess," he stated. Valensa believes that the Polish people "are in safety", belonging to the structures of NATO and EU, and not having in their country a substantial number of Russian minority, which, for example, the Baltic countries have.

And if Putin attacks Lithuania or Denmark – because he may consider it neccessary to study "the corridor to Kaliningrad or to the Atlantic Ocean" – then what next?

March 16 – "Since the ceasefire came into effect, the separatists have breached the truce at least 1,100 times. Therefore, I can say that the ceasefire is broken," Poroshenko told the Bild at the start of a two-day visit to Berlin where he would meet German chancellor Angela Merkel. He also called for more sanctions on Russia in order to put more pressure on Russia over the war in eastern Ukraine.
