Kremlin political prisoner allowed visit from mother

One of the Kremlin’s political prisoners, the Ukrainian Stanislav Klykh was allowed a visit by his mother. This was reported on Facebook by the first deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada, Iryna Herashchenko.

Tamara Klykh reported that her son is in bad condition. He is exhausted psychologically and physically and has lost a great deal of weight. Previously, in May 2016, the Supreme Court of Chechnya sentenced the Ukrainians Mykola Karpiuk and Stanislav Klykh to 22 and a half and to 20 years in a high-security prison colony. They are accused of allegedly killing Russian soldiers in Grozny in the first Chechen War. The accused claim not to be guilty of this, and, moreover, that they have never even been to Chechnya. They say that their testimony was given under torture.
