20-year-old Oleksandr from Chernivtsi Region was recently admitted to the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Clinical Hospital.

On his FB page, Serhiy Ruzhenko, chief doctor of the hospital explains that a bullet penetrated Oleksandr’s chest wall, damaged part of the lungs, and lodged near the liver.

Oleksandr is learning to breathe, talk, eat and get out of bed. The doctor says the young man finds it hard to understand what he can and can’t do.

Oleksandr: “When you’ve been wounded in battle, life becomes an exploit. I must develop my own exploits every day!”

Serhiy Ryzhenko adds that 15 wounded fighters arrived at the hospital last week. They’re being looked after and are on their way to recovery. Many thanks to all the volunteers.

(Over the past few weeks fighting has intensified in eastern Ukraine, and more and more injured soldiers are being transported to hospitals all over Ukraine. About 30 fighters were admitted to Lviv Military Hospital a week ago–Ed).
