#LetMyPeopleGo nominated for The Bobs

The Bobs have opened voting for the finalists of the international competition in online activism. The initiative to release Ukrainian political prisoners illegally held in Russia #LetMyPeopleGo  was included into the list of finalists.

Currently, at least 25 Ukrainians are illegally held as hostages of the Kremlin in Russia or occupied Crimea. Some have been sentenced to decades of prison, as Nadiya Savchenko and Oleg Sentsov. Some have been issued factually a death sentence, like Yuriy Soloshenko, who is 73 years old and denied treatment for cancer. Many were tortured. All have been accused of committing crimes they didn’t commit in courts that grossly violate any standards of justice.

Only international pressure can give hope that these people are released. The #LetMyPeopleGo campaign participants are thankful for being nominated in this prestigious online activism competition and invite their supporters to vote in their favor. Voting is open until 2 May 2016, you can vote once a day.

  1. Go to The Bobs and log in through one of your social networks (right upper corner)
  2. Select “User Award Ukrainian”
  3. Select #LetMyPeopleGo
  4. Click “Vote”.

The campaign was launched by Euromaidan SOS to release Ukrainian citizens detained for political reasons in Russia and occupied Crimea. Nadiya Savchenko became the symbol of these people, but in total there are 25 Ukrainians in the #LetMyPeopleGo list who also need our help. In authoritarian Russia, there is no hope for fair justice. So, the only chance to help release the “prisoners of Kremlin” is to ensure international publicity. Participation in this contest is one of the opportunities.

Euromaidan SOS and Euromaidan Press appeal to the people of good will to help draw attention to the fate of the 26 Ukrainians, who are now kept in Russian jail on trumped-up charges.
