Ukraine’s National Security and Defense council (NSDC) decided to appeal to the UN requesting to introduce peacekeepers into the conflict zone in Donbas. The NSDC secretary Oleksandr Turchynov announced about this decision at a briefing, UNN reports. “We have approved the decision to appeal to the UN and EU on deploying a peacekeeping mission to support peace and security,” he said.

Turchynov mentioned that the Foreign Ministry had already prepared the appropriate appeal and expressed hope that the Parliament would support it. He stressed that the introduction of peacekeepers would “fix and localize disorders (in the ceasefire – UNN).”
