Меня спрашивают, зачем я протестую против Гергиева

Меня спрашивают о Гергиеве: “Зачем вы протестуете? Чего добиваетесь? Кому от этого лучше?” Спрашивают настоящие друзья, люди, мнение которых для меня ценно, музыканты, которые отлично знают, что Гергиев за человек.

Мне бы хотелось, чтоб вы хотя бы попытались понять.

Вы все знаете, что Гергиев публично поддержал ввод войск в Украину. Он регулярно приезжал дирижировать в Киев, собирал набитые битком залы, люди ждали его концертов, а в один прекрасный день он сказал: “Давайте, задавите их танками, расстреляйте их из автоматов!” Он предал своих украинских слушателей.

Но дело даже не в этом – мало ли на свете предателей.

Он предал и своих сограждан. Своей безоговорочной поддержкой власти, которая издевается над ними, затыкает им рот, сажает в тюрьмы.

Но дело не в этом – мало ли на свете лизоблюдов и придворных шутов.

Гергиев предал и свою профессию. Музыкант должен нести мир, добро, человечность, а не служить тиранам и поддерживать войну. Да и вы все знаете, что искусство для него в первую очередь – успешный бизнес, в котором все имеет свою цену.

Но дело не в этом – мало ли на свете продажных людей, для которых нет ничего святого.

Гергиев – лжец, пропагандист путинского вранья и ненависти. Он рассказал, что в Украине к власти пришли люди с “откровенно фашистскими лозунгами” и что в Киеве “не звучит ни одной русской оперы.” После громких протестов и скандалов в Лондоне, Нью-Йорке, Мюнхене и других городах, он сказал, что “никогда не сталкивался с протестами.”

Но дело и не в этом – мало ли на свете лжецов.

Стоять несколько часов на морозе с плакатом – не самое приятное занятие. Выслушивать оскорбления и плевки в свой адрес. Видеть знакомых, которые “просто пришли послушать музыку” и делают вид, что не замечают и не узнают.

Но я не могу не стоять там. Я хочу, чтоб люди в Киеве, Одессе, Львове видели, что те, кто оплевал их, будут достойно встречены в каждом городе мира. Я хочу, чтоб в Украине видели фотографии наших флагов и плакатов на страницах Нью-Йорк Таймс, читали о наших протестах во всех концертных рецензиях. Я хочу, чтоб мои родные и близкие, которые еще недавно ходили на концерты этих людей и восхищались ими, знали, что это страшное предательство никогда не сойдет негодяям с рук.

Невозможно не стоять там. Невозможно промолчать. Мне кажется, вы не можете этого не понять.

At the beginning of March, the GPO presented written announcements about the suspicion of 76 Crimean deputies in high treason to the Russian Embassy in Kyiv, and also sent it by mail to the illegally formed organ of the "State Parliament of the Republic of Crimea."
