Moscow-born designer Natasha Alimova creates logo for Euromaidan Press

Natasha Alimova has created a unique logo for Euromaidan Press using known visual elements that represent peace (dove) and internationality (laurel leafs). The laurels are also made of doves. Hardly could the concept of Euromaidan Press be better expressed: our goal is peace, and we aim to connect Ukraine with the world. On behalf of the Euromaidan Press team, I wish to express our gratitude to Mrs. Alimova for this generous artistic present that comes at a time when war-torn Ukraine suffering from a Russian invasion is desperately in need for peace.

peace2This is not the first icon that Natasha Alimova has created to support Ukrainian people. In the beginning of March 2014, at the grimmest time of Euromaidan, when protesters in Kyiv were being killed by special police forces and the future of Ukraine was far from clear, she developed an icon which could be freely used by everyone to promote Peace to Ukraine. This icon had spread like wildfire around the world, appearing on thousands of facebook avatars of people sending wishes of peace to the Ukrainian people. EuromaidanPR (the name of Euromaidan Press at the time) adopted the logo and has proudly carried it over all the adventures of the Euromaidan Revolution and continuation of Ukraine’s fight for freedom in repelling off a Russian invasion.

The story of the icon’s creation, as told on Natasha’s website alimova.com:

Euromaidan Press now proudly features the renewed logo, confident that it will help our mission of bringing peace, freedom, and democratic development to Ukraine!

Natasha Alimova was born in Russia, worked in Latin America as an Art Director in widely known design studio, then moved to Auckland, New Zealand. Here she is developing herself as an Art Director of recognizable New Zealand studio and as the co-founder of Spasm Studio. Natasha is widely known for her support to community projects, especially these ones that help to promote peace and freedom. Please visit her website www.alimova.com.

The New Zealand community where she lives with her Ukrainian husband is devoted to demonstrating its support for peace to the world thousands of kilometers from Ukraine, supporting it by gathering money here to buy medical supplies for Ukrainian army and battalions.
