Thousands flee Luhansk

More than 4,000 people have left Luhansk over the past week through a special humanitarian corridor, reports TV channel 5, August 10, citing the press service of the Luhansk Oblast State Administration.

Within the past 24 hours, 753 have people left, more than a hundred in their own cars. As people leave they must be accompanied by Ukrainian military since the terrorists are constantly firing on the columns. The displaced residents are registered and resettled in the northern regions of the oblast.

Additionally, free shuttle buses provide transportation to Kharkiv and Kyiv. However, those wishing to go to Russia face long wait times at the Gukovo checkpoint at the border. There are reports that artificial lines are being created for the benefit of Russian TV, which is reporting on the supposedly huge numbers of refugees from Ukraine.
