Avakov responds to Lavrov’s peacemaking with terrorists advice with strong Russian idiom

The advice of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov to start negotiations with terrorists in the East of Ukraine sounds especially cynical after Russian officers shot down a civilian airliner in Donbas. The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov commented on the subject:

“So we have finally witnessed the peacemaking Lavrov’s advice: the head of Home Office of Russia informed that in order to deal with the situation in Donbas it is necessary that Ukrainian authorities should commence direct negotiations with the terrorists instead of issuing an ultimatum to them.

Lavrov advises…What bloody direct negotiations with the terrorists? Should we even talk with Lavrov himself? If so, then only as a quartet: Ukraine, the USA, the EU and Russia. Not two, not three but only the four so that sensitive Europeans, their hearts softened, don’t walk again into poor Putin regime’s shoes.

The only subject of the talks can be how Russia ceases sending their mercenaries and arms to Ukraine. How Russia ceases shooting down airplanes and supporting terrorism. How Russia ceases planting mines in our land and blowing up bridges. How Russia withdraws its soldiers from Ukraine…

What else? Who should the talks be conducted with? With Girkin and Boraday, citizens of Russia, and FSB-GRU officers who claim to represent the rebellious Ukrainian nation? Or maybe with Motorola, a bigamist gas station worker from Rostov, who called himself ‘the people’s mayor’? How about Bezler-Bes, a Russian citizen, who shoots down passenger airplanes? Or maybe they should go F*CK themselves and we will sort out the whole mess by ourselves? It will turn out to be alright without these bastards, just like it is in Sloviansk now! And just like it will be in other cities of Donbas.

That’s what I have been thinking about. That’s what should be discussed during the four-sided talks. That and nothing else.

PS. I can already predict hypocritical criticism of the Russian idiom used by a Ukrainian minister who is wanted in Russia. I believe that as far as the talks with the Russian world, the one that shoots down passenger airplanes, are concerned, strong idioms of the great and powerful Russian language are a justified form to get the message across.”
