Ukrainian Ministry of Interior puts Azarov on the international wanted list

At the instruction of the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Ukrainian Ministry of Interior has put the ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov on the international wanted list, according to an informed source at the Ministry of Interior.

As was reported earlier, on 18 June 2014 Oleh Mahnitskiy, the then acting General Prosecutor, announced that the General Prosecutor’s Office is investigating 28 criminal proceedings in connection with authority abuse and plundering of public funds by the ex-President Viktor Yanukovych and other former high-ranking officials.

According to Mr. Mahnitskiy, these proceedings list as involved the son of the ex-President, Oleksandr Yanukovych, the former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, the former Vice Prime Minister Andriy Kliuyev, the Head of the National Bank of Ukraine Segiy Arbuzov, the Minister for Agricultural Policy Mykoly Prysiazhniuk, the Ministers of Justice Oleksandr Lavrynovych and Olena Lukash, and other former high-ranking officials.
