Turchynov: The CPU fraction cannot be disbanded without implementing the according changes into the Verkhovna Rada statute.

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov stated that the fraction of the Communist Party of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada cannot be disbanded without adding according amendments to the statute of the Rada. He stated this during the Verkhovna Rada session.

According to Turchynov, the VR statute states that the rule regarding the minimal number of Parliament members regards only MP groups. Therefore to solve the issue of the CPU’s disbandment, the chairman of the VR proposed that the MP’s prepare and approve the according changes to the statute which would deal with the minimal necessary number of MP’s in fractions.

“I am asking to prepare the according bill,” said Turchynov.
