Turchynov: “We destroyed the plans of our enemies”

Turchynov

“Based on the information received from all oblasts, cities, towns and villages of our country, we can confidently state that the presidential elections have been held in all regions of Ukraine,” announced the Acting President of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov on the government website, May 25.

“The elections were conducted openly and transparently; the voting took place freely, without artificial restrictions and administrative pressure,” he said, expressing the hope that the Central Election Commission “promptly and objectively ensures the vote count.”

“I want to thank all the citizens of Ukraine for realizing the importance of this expression of the will of the people,” he said, adding that extraordinary turnouts could be observed “virtually on the entire territory of Ukraine.”

“Special thanks go to the members of district and precinct commissions of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, who honorably carried out their civic duty. With these elections, which I hope will be recognized by all the civilized countries of the world, we destroyed the plans of our enemies. This is our common victory,” he concluded.
