The leadership of the National Defense of the Dnipropetrovk Oblast will pay each bereaved family of a soldier killed in battle UAH 1 million, states the Deputy Governor of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Boris Filatov, on his Facebook page, as reported by Espreso TV, May 6.

“It’s official. The leadership of the National Defense of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, together with the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Defense and the Anti-Terrorist Center, is establishing a foundation to help the wounded and the families of the deceased,” Filatov writes.

According to Filatov, “initial funds have already been received from the businessmen of Dnipropetrovsk. Each family of a deceased soldier will receive UAH 1 million. Each wounded soldier will not be left without help,” he says.

“Every defender of our homeland must know that his country will not abandon him,” he concludes.

Filatov promised to make details of the initiative public in the press shortly.

As previously reported, Dnipropetrovsk Governor Ihor Kolomoyskyy and his team have organized and partially funded the special forces battalion Dnipro to help protect Dnipropetrovsk against invaders. They have also instituted a reward system for turning in illegal arms and invading “green men.”
