Hayduk: Donuzlav Sailors Will Run Out of Food in 10 Days

Monday, March, 24, 2014, 08:52

Food supplies on the Ukrainian ships blocked on the Lake Donuzlav in Crimea are sufficient for only ten days.  The information comes from the chief of Ukraine’s naval forces, Rear Admiral Serhiy Hayduk. Admiral Hayduk stated that at the moment 30% of the working Ukrainian fleet is blocked in Crimea.

Hayduk explained that out of the whole fleet, “only 50% of the ships are operational. 30% of the fleet is blocked in the Crimea, while other ships are out of the peninsula.” Hayduk did not give any direct answers concerning measures to be taken by the authorities after the sailors run out of food supplies.

The Head of the Crimean Center of the Ministry of Defence Vladislav Seleznyov stated that at 9am, they raised Ukrainian national flags in the traditional maner on the Ukrainian ships on Crimea’s Lake Donuzlav, with their teams remaining at combat posts.
