Russia is preparing an air and ground offensive against Ukraine, writes former first deputy chairman of the General Staff, Vice Admiral Ihor Kabanenko in a Facebook post.

“Exercises of Russian paratroopers, led by General Shamanov with the involvement of strategic aviation. The formation of air defense units and groups. Continuation of special operations on the territory of Ukraine. Strengthening of strike units in Crimea and the East.

“For me as a military person it is clear: air and ground offensive operations are being prepared against all of Ukraine. What is yet unclear to the politicians? Where is your will? Enough retreating in every approach and action! Mobilize reserves, arm people through legitimate mechanisms and give them an opportunity to defend themselves, their families and the state! Let’s not cede a single inch of our land to the enemy, let it burn under the bots of aggressors! Announce the Patriotic War against occupiers! Form the Supreme Headquarters! Please act, eventually, and give the people an opportunity to act,” wrote Kabanenko.
