The Kyrgyz Republic shares the concern of the international community regarding the escalation of tension in Ukraine,” Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday evening.
“The Kyrgyz Republic condemns all actions aimed at destabilizing the situation in Ukraine. Therefore, we consider the statement of Viktor Yanukovych on March 11 inappropriate and inadequate.
The only source of power in any country is the people. No president can be legitimate, who completely lost trust of his people, de facto lost his presidential powers and, moreover, fled his country. It was the unreasonable actions and corruption of the former Ukrainian authorities that led to the current crisis and the deaths of dozens of innocent people.
The Kyrgyz Republic supports a prompt resolution of the situation in Ukraine by peaceful means, through negotiations and dialogue, in strict compliance with standards of international law and the UN Charter,” said the press release.
