Are Russia’s Nationalists and Neo-Nazis Inciting Separatism?

Saturday, March 8, 2014, 12:23

New evidence has been found that Russian nationalists are involved in the separatist movement in Crimea and Donetsk. One of them negotiated with the SSU for the release of Pavlo Gubariev, who proclaimed himself “the people’s governor.”

The head of the Sverdlovsk regional branch of the Drugaya Rossiya political party, Rostislav Zhuravlev from Ekaterinaburg, wrote on his Twitter page that only he and one of the leaders of their “militia” were allowed to negotiate on the release of Gubariev, who was arrested on Thursday.

“The talks with the head of the SSU ended: only I was allowed in (journalist of URA.Ru), Robert (one of the leaders of the militia),” he tweeted.

According to his tweets, Zhuravlev also traveled to Crimea.

Recently, the head of the Drugaya Rossiya party, the famous writer and politician Eduard Limonov, officially announced a gathering of volunteers to travel to Crimea.

On his Twitter page, Limonov gives a variety of advice on how to handle the separatists in Donetsk.

In addition, as a Russian journalist Ilya Azar wrote in his Twitter page, Gubariev himself in his leaflet directly wrote that previously he belonged to the Organization of Russian National Unity – a neo-Nazi formation openly advocating the superiority of the Russian nation over other nations and races.

In addition, Azar wrote that a member of the Drugaya Rossiya party, National-Bolshevik Ihor had arrived in Simferopol.

According to the Russian journalist, Alexey Khudyakov from the organization The Shield of Moscow is allegedly helping the people’s governor in Donetsk. This organization is engaged in “stripping Moscow of illegal immigrants.”
