A Child’s Letter to the Right Sector

At 19:36 on February 12, we received the following message:

You know, I don’t know whether you are going to publish this, but I would like to tell you a very sad story nevertheless. I live in a small town in Vinnatsya Oblast, where basically no one supports you or EuroMaidan. No one really cares. Only a handful of people support EuroMaidan and particularly your organization.

However, something happened recently which shocked our town. My friend went to Kyiv to take an exam; he studied at a university there. And it so happened that he was murdered. The funeral took place yesterday. This was really shocking. He was not yet 25 years old and he was murdered by government supporters or titushki. He was murdered because he had a ribbon with the EU and Ukrainian flags fastened to his bag. And for that he lost his life. He was murdered somewhere close to the railway station.

I talked to him on the phone when he got off the train and he told me some suspicious people wearing sports suits were following him. That was the last thing I heard from him. This is our country’s current reality. That is our president’s regime. I have known him for years and regret very much not going with him. I am posting from my sister’s page. I am a 16-year-old guy and I fully support what you are doing. My parents and teachers, on the contrary, regard this passively or even condemn you and EuroMaidan as a whole. My parents will never let me come to Kyiv, but I would like to tell you that I support you with my whole heart. Do bring change to this country! To the country bogged down in corruption. Thank you. GLORY TO UKRAINE!
